Windermere Difference - The Pearl District - Mid-Century Modern

The Windermere Difference

Everyone needs a place to live. Windermere not only helps its clients find the perfect home; it also helps families who would otherwise be unable to provide shelter for themselves. Through the support of Windermere agents and clients, the Windermere Foundation has provided more than $8 million toward programs for homeless families and at-risk youth in our local communities, with less than 2 percent going to administrative costs.

Windermere/Cronin & Caplan Realty Group of Portland and its 450 agents donate a portion of every sales commission to the Windermere Foundation that supports the following nonprofit social service agencies: CASA, Catholic Charities, Clackamas County YWCA-Yolanda House, Clackamas Women’s Shelter, Community Transition Center, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon-Patton House, Enterprise Foundation/Women & Housing, Franklin High Food Program, Friendly House, Foster Parents Assn., Good Neighbor Center, Gresham Head Start, Habitat for Humanity, Kows for Kids, Letty Owings Center, New Avenues for Youth, Pioneer House-Oregon Coast, Please Take a Seat, SMART, Salvation Army West Women’s Shelter, Self Enhancement Inc., Shepherd’s Door, St. Mary’s School, Taste of the Nation and YWCA/Safe Haven.

I have personally donated additional funds to Our House of Portland and New Avenues for Youth. Both of these charities provide much needed help to some our most vulnerable Portland residents.

The Windermere Foundation has generously supported organizations in the communities where Windermere agents work and live throughout the Northwest. Providing housing and related services to help homeless families get back on their feet is a natural extension of our business. We believe that breaking the pattern of homelessness begins with making a difference in the lives of homeless children, by finding families a place to call home. The foundation underwrites the cost of special activities like summer camp, for example, as well as basic necessities such as new school shoes, socks, and underwear. We believe that building a child’s self-esteem is an investment in our future. This kind of thinking is what we call the “Windermere difference.”
